December 15, 2009 Great first season, Head Boxer! ... now, get your uppity ass to the Deitz Cup playoffsHippos 60, Ice 42: In the end, Head Hippo v.2 actually did want to win the division, the #1 seed and the scoring title. And so endeth the Ice's title defense. Shooters 52, Goodness 51: It's like Head Shooter knows exactly how to kick me to make it hurt most. Reapers 39, Weasels 34: The Weasels still get their division title, but they could have gotten a playoff bye if Michael Crabtree had stayed out of the endzone. As for the Reapers, they've had better seasons, but they're still fear-worthy. Bunnies 36, Boxers 32: The #4 seed always seems to get a raw deal, and this year is no different; for the Bunnies to even reach the Elbodex Bowl, they'll need to first get through the Reapers and the Hippos. But sorry, Head Bunny, the greater amount of sympathy here has to go to Head Boxer, whose valiant first campaign inexplicably went for naught. Who could have predicted that Warner and Fitzgerald would both be shut out? Butts 33, Belugas 26: Not that it would have mattered in the end, but the Butts did what they needed to do to keep the Belugas out of the playoffs. Didn't the same thing happen between these two last year? Doesn't something like this happen between these two every year? Marauders 32, Geese 17: The quietest division title in Geese franchise history, for sure. Head Goose must be aware of his obvious good fortune in landing a #2 seed. And congrats to the Marauders, who make the playoffs despite being only two points away from being last in the league in scoring. Head Marauder may be the first owner to actually have positive baby juju.
